Stacey Buzzell, DVM
Dr. Stacey Buzzell joined Hess Equine in January of 2020. She grew up riding and showing in the hunter/jumpers around Maryland and Pennsylvania. Dr. Buzzell received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Delaware Valley University in Large Animal Science with a minor in Pre-Veterinary Sciences. While there she was Co-Captain of the Western Equestrian Team and Captain of the English Equestrian Team. Upon graduation, Dr. Buzzell attended the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) where she earned her veterinary degree in 2006.
Following graduation, Dr. Buzzell worked at the TB racetracks in MD for about six years before transitioning to a role as a technical services veterinarian with an animal health company in South Carolina. After 7 ½ years, she was ready to leave the corporate setting and return to working on horses in the MD/ PA area closer to her family.
Dr. Buzzell lives in Harford County, MD with her dog, Q, who is a mixed breed. She also owns three horses – a 30 year-old grade mare named Lou (Skip to My Lou), a half-welsh out of Lou named Simon (Eight Ball Corner Pocket), and an OTTB named Fred (Hotcrabsncoldbeer). In her spare time, Dr. Buzzell enjoys spending time with her animals and family, reading crime novels, and playing pool competitively.
