Grace Hecker, DVM

Dr. Grace Hecker is from Alexandria, Virginia, and has been riding horses since before she could walk. She joined US Pony Club at eight years old and has participated in a wide variety of equestrian sports ever since. While she has enjoyed many different disciplines over the years, mounted games has alway been her greatest passion. Her love of horses and animals from a young age ultimately led her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Hecker earned her bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Virginia Tech, and then moved to London to attend the Royal Veterinary College. While there, she developed a strong passion for equine medicine and ambulatory practice. She enjoys the variety of cases that ambulatory practice brings and the opportunity to work closely with horses, their owners, and their teams. Grace is excited to continue developing her skills across all aspects of ambulatory practice and working towards becoming a well-rounded equine veterinarian.

Outside of the clinic, Grace enjoys spending time with her horse, Patty, and her dog, Jack, as well as getting outdoors and traveling. She is excited to be back in the US and looks forward to learning from the team and getting to know the clients and horses throughout her internship.
